We originally planned our Sunflower Festival for May. Our flowers were behind due to the cooler temps in early April so we planted a new field and extended our season through June.
Unfortunately we ended up going through record breaking temperatures in May and only got 1” of rain total
It really took its toll on our flowers.
Our new planting didn’t grow to height and so unfortunately now we don’t have a beautiful sunflower field for photos
So, with no sunflowers, and the forecasted 100+ degree days, we’ve decided it is in everyone’s best interest if we close the festival early.
It is just too hot of a weekend for our staff and our animals. We also had a couple cases of heat stroke this past weekend at the farm.
We want y’all to enjoy your experience, and we just unfortunately can’t provide that with this heat and no sunflowers.
Thank y’all for an amazing first festival on the farm and we look forward to seeing y’all in just 3 months for more sunflowers
& pumpkins
From our family to yours-Thank you for an AMAZING first Festival on the Farm!
See y’all in September!
