2026 Pumpkin Festival | September 26th - November 8th! 🇺🇸🎃 Click here for tickets!

Western Belle Farm

A family owned farm opening seasonally to offer Easter, Strawberry, Sunflower & Pumpkin Festivals in West, TX!

Taylor

1st Annual Sunflower Festival is now CLOSED!

❗️WE ARE CLOSING OUR FESTIVAL EARLY❗️
We originally planned our Sunflower Festival for May. Our flowers were behind due to the cooler temps in early April so we planted a new field and extended our season through June. 🌱
Unfortunately we ended up going through record breaking temperatures in May and only got 1” of rain total 🌵 It really took its toll on our flowers.
Our new planting didn’t grow to height and so unfortunately now we don’t have a beautiful sunflower field for photos 📷
So, with no sunflowers, and the forecasted 100+ degree days, we’ve decided it is in everyone’s best interest if we close the festival early.
It is just too hot of a weekend for our staff and our animals. We also had a couple cases of heat stroke this past weekend at the farm.
We want y’all to enjoy your experience, and we just unfortunately can’t provide that with this heat and no sunflowers.
Thank y’all for an amazing first festival on the farm and we look forward to seeing y’all in just 3 months for more sunflowers🌻 & pumpkins 🎃
➡️ If you had pre-purchased tickets and they are unused, we will be issuing you refunds automatically.
❓ If you have any questions, feel free to email or call us.
From our family to yours-Thank you for an AMAZING first Festival on the Farm! 🥰
See y’all in September! 🍁🎃🌻

SUNFLOWER FIELD UPDATE 6/7/22

🙁🌻Sad News to report 🌻🙁
We’ve got some sad news to report on our third planting of sunflowers that were supposed to take over starting this weekend. Please read this important Sunflower field update below👇🏽
As we’ve been sharing, our current Sunflower field has been blooming just about a month. It has peaked, and it’s now on the decline. We had a new field that had a bloom date of June 13th. Unfortunately, they very well might just bloom June 13th… but only about a foot off the ground 🫤
We’ve had challenging weather this spring complete with a drought. Our tanks are drying up and irrigating our crops was NOT an option. We’ve prayed for rain and storm after storm has just barely missed us.
We’ve also had mostly 90+ degree days for the entire month of May and nearly 100 degrees so far in June. Those high temperatures and the lack of rain has REALLY taken a toll on our Sunflower fields. 🥵
Unfortunately, our newest planting looks like it won’t be successful and sitting by, watching it struggle has been tough for us. It looked like it was doing well but then the buds started to develop and we knew the growth (height wise) was over. 🙁
This is one of the hardest challenges of farming- you have no control over the weather. Texas has volatile weather, and we knew that, and this year has definitely been no exception.
So, we’ve been so grateful for an AMAZING first Sunflower Festival season so far. Unfortunately most of y’all are just now finding out about our farm as our Sunflower Field 🌻 is coming to an end.
Our plan is to plant more Sunflowers for fall, but we need rain in the coming weeks! So stay tuned to our page for updates on the fall Sunflower field! 🌻
❗️We don’t feel it is really “photo worthy” at this point although we do still have some nice Sunflowers & Zinnias out there for picking ❗️
Stay tuned later this week for an update from the field and the details of the FUN on the farm this weekend!
For those of you that have visited over the last three weeks— thank you! We are so glad you got to see our beautiful sunflower field 😍 Those of you still wanting to join us, you are welcome to. But please note: our flowers are just about over, sadly. 🫤
We will still have lots of fun on the farm so see y’all this weekend! 🤠

Photo 2: taken June 6th as the field is about finished
Photo 3: Latest planting which, due to the drought, won’t reach more than 1’ in height

IMPORTANT SUNFLOWER FIELD UPDATE!

IMPORTANT SUNFLOWER UPDATE

😔 Our Sunflowers are behind schedule and we are pretty upset about it 😔

We’ve grown beautiful sunflowers for 4 years… but never in a Texas spring. 🥶➡️🥵➡️🥶➡️🥵
We knew it would be a challenge to pull off spring Sunflowers, but this year’s weather was even more challenging than we anticipated.
🌡 The evening temperatures dropped lower than average too many nights this spring and our sunflowers were stunted. We hoped they would pull through and get growing. Not only are they definitely behind schedule, but we think they are stunted, heightwise, by the cold weather snaps we’ve had and the drought we endured through mid-March.
It’s been weird weather this year everywhere it seems…Ask our Maryland friends who just had a measurable snow in late April! 😱
🌻❗️ While we will have sunflowers, they are definitely at least two weeks behind schedule and going to be shorter in height than anticipated ❗️🌻
☝🏼Don’t fear! We have a back-up plan! ☝🏼We have just planted another acre of Sunflowers with hopes that the weather stays warm moving forward (and we could use some more rain!) 🌱
🎉 We are still opening May 7th as planned for our festival activities 🎉 As of now, we will NOT have Sunflowers on opening weekend. We don’t think that we will have any blooming flowers until Mid-May as of now.
We are fertilizing the flowers with hopes that the warmer weather ahead will help keep them growing.
Therefore, if you are coming mainly for Sunflowers, not the activities, please postpone your visit to late May or June❗️
👉🏼 ❗️SO HERE ARE THE UPDATED DETAILS OF THE SUNFLOWER FESTIVAL❗️👈🏽
➡️ We are still opening for the Festival activities as planned, we are just taking the Sunflower field growth day by day and we will be posting regular updates so stay tuned for those! If Sunflowers are the reason you are coming, please watch or CONTACT US 📞 for updates on the Sunflower Field bloom.
➡️ We are EXTENDING our Sunflower Festival through June 26th! 📆
➡️ We have high hopes for the recently replanted field scheduled to bloom mid-June! 🌻Plan for late May or June for our Sunflowers to be in bloom.
➡️ We have enjoyed sharing our story and journey with you guys. That includes the good AND the bad of building out the new farm. Although we farmed for years, we are having to learn how to farm again here in Texas. (To read our full story about why sold our farms and moved cross country, visit our “About Us” on our website 🙃) We love being a part of this community and we plan to continue to include you as we learn and grow over the years. We are looking forward to hosting y’all on our family farm and we can’t wait to be a part of your annual traditions. 🌻🎃 Plus, we’ve got a lot of fun on the farm planned for you! 🎪
Thank you for all your support and encouragement you’ve already shown and continue to show. 🥰
We love hosting Festivals on the Farm and we are looking forward to doing it for many years to come!
We are getting very excited to open up the farm here in a couple weeks. We’ve got a LOT of fun on the farm for y’all! 🤠
We’ve been working really hard and the vision is really coming together! 🤩
We will see y’all in just 1️⃣6️⃣ Days! 🥳
🎟 Tickets to the festival, you can pre-purchase them here!
